Fresh Cluby Questions About Hands-uppers

7. Dezember 2011 Posted by ClubyMusic

Laura asks…

very itchy hands despite no presence of redness or bubbles, etc?

my hands have become VERY itchy lately. if i so much as touch an area on my hand (upper side) even in between my fingers i will be constantly itching for hours. there is no redness or physical evidence of anything wrong with my hands. they are just very itchy. no red, no swollen, no bubbles/pimples, NOTHING. my hands look normal. what could it be from?
my hands arent dry of flakey at all.

ClubyMusic answers:

Sounds like you may have dry skin- I would suggest using hand cream :)

Charles asks…

What does it means when a girl take her hand away all the time when the guy try to hold her hands?

When the guy tried to hold a girl’s hand for at least 10 times and she took away her hands. They are in a relationship for 3 weeks and the girl always says she likes the guy a lot. She has all kind of body contact (like touching her face, her hand, upper body) with him. Though, she just doesn’t let him to hold her hand or kiss her or even hug her…what’s wrong with her?

ClubyMusic answers:

I think she’s just uncomfortable with the physical contact– so i’d advise the guy not to try to do any touchy stuff too much or it will creep her out or something and eventually, when she becomes more comfortable with the situation, she’ll be more comfortable with physical contact as well

Chris asks…

Can an ar15 right handed lower connect to a left handed upper?

I have a right handed ar15 a2. (bushmaster) i want a left handed a3 upper. will it connect to the right handed lower

ClubyMusic answers:

As long as the pins go in place properly and the upper and lower are snug it will work.

Richard asks…

I woke up about a half hur ago and my hand/upper arm is numb and tingly?

I thought that maybe I had just slept on it but the tingliness isn’t going away? Whats going on, is this some sort of symptom for something else?

ClubyMusic answers:

Tingling is usually caused by either a pinched nerve or a diminished blood supply. It will often resolve itself, but if it’s not better after a few hours, you should contact your physician or chiropractor.

Paul asks…

Does the treadmill will help me to lose my shoulder parts?

I do walking on treadmill almost 6 days a week for 15 minutes in a speed of 3.5-4m/sec. My abdomen has gone down comparatively. But my hands upper parts are fleshy. How can I reduce it? Will that fat also will be burnt if I continue walking on treadmill? Thanks for the suggestions

ClubyMusic answers:

Walking is great exercise. Everyone is different. You might lose weight around your abdomen more easily than other areas, but if you stick with it, you’ll eventually see fat from other areas start to disappear. My suggestion is you add some upper body exercises to your routine. Push-ups are great! They’ll seem really hard when you first start, but you’ll be surprised how fast they become easier. Starting off with a goal of 10 is good. You might only be able to do 1 or 2, but within a week, you’ll be up to 5-7. You might also try walking for a longer period of time. Getting your heart rate up, and keeping it there for 30-40 minutes will really boost your weight loss.

can any1 perform at the house of blues…what is the procedure you go through to perform there?

ClubyMusic answers:

I can only speak about the Hollywood branch. They have their own bookers, but they also use local promoters, which is how I played there. Check with the H.O.B. You’re thinking of and see if they use outside promoters.

George asks…

How can my band play at the House of Blues?

I live in Los Angeles. I am 17 years old but my band is damn good.

The biggest crowd we have played at is 3,000 people.

We have more skill than 90% of pop bands out today.

Do I have to be 21 to play there? The youngest band member is 17.

If I’m able to play there how do I schedule it?

Thanks.
Yes I realize that really famous people play at the House of Blues but y enighbor’s band has played there and she’s far from famous. If we could just even open for another band that would be awsome.

Fresh Cluby Questions About Transcendentalism

7. Dezember 2011 Posted by ClubyMusic

David asks…

Transcendentalism?

I need a five sentence definition of transcendentalism that includes its 1. origins 2. key players (in addition to Emerson and Thoreau) and 3. its main ideas and beliefs. Can use semicolons, paranthesis, and complex sentence structure to get as much information into the five sentences. Thank you!

ClubyMusic answers:

Meaning of Transcendentalism – A literary and philosophical movement, associated with Ralph Waldo Emerson and Margaret Fuller, asserting the existence of an ideal spiritual reality that transcends the empirical and scientific and is knowable through intuition.

Usage-
A religious or mystical belief in a world or state of being beyond the reach of human apprehension and experience.

Transcendentalism [Lat.,=overpassing], in literature, philosophical and literary movement that flourished in New England from about 1836 to 1860. It originated among a small group of intellectuals who were reacting against the orthodoxy of Calvinism and the rationalism of the Unitarian Church, developing instead their own faith centering on the divinity of humanity and the natural world. Transcendentalism derived some of its basic idealistic concepts from romantic German philosophy, notably that of Immanuel Kant, and from such English authors as Carlyle, Coleridge, and Wordsworth. Its mystical aspects were partly influenced by Indian and Chinese religious teachings. Although transcendentalism was never a rigorously systematic philosophy, it had some basic tenets that were generally shared by its adherents. The beliefs that God is immanent in each person and in nature and that individual intuition is the highest source of knowledge led to an optimistic emphasis on individualism, self-reliance, and rejection of traditional authority.
The ideas of transcendentalism were most eloquently expressed by Ralph Waldo Emerson in such essays as “Nature” (1836), “Self-Reliance,” and “The Over-Soul” (both 1841), and by Henry David Thoreau in his book Walden (1854). The movement began with the occasional meetings of a group of friends in Boston and Concord to discuss philosophy, literature, and religion. Originally calling themselves the Hedge Club (after one of the members), they were later dubbed the Transcendental Club by outsiders because of their discussion of Kant’s “transcendental” ideas. Besides Emerson and Thoreau, its most famous members, the club included F. H. Hedge, George Ripley, Bronson Alcott, Margaret Fuller, Theodore Parker, and others. For several years much of their writing was published in The Dial (1840-44), a journal edited by Fuller and Emerson. The cooperative community Brook Farm (1841-47) grew out of their ideas on social reform, which also found expression in their many individual actions against slavery. Primarily a movement seeking a new spiritual and intellectual vitality, transcendentalism had a great impact on American literature, not only on the writings of the group’s members, but on such diverse authors as Hawthorne, Melville, and Whitman.-

Donna asks…

transcendentalism.?

how did the ideas of transcendentalism affect the development of american literature?

ClubyMusic answers:

Whose transcendalism? Kants? Eastern religions’? Which particular literature. It is certain to me it affected very little American literature. It certainly didn’t affect my favorites: Hawthorne; Melville; Rand; Spillane; Heinlein; Clancy; Loren Eiseley…..

Sandra asks…

How did Transcendentalism help middle class adopt the market revolution?

How did Transcendentalism help middle class adopt the market revolution in America in the late 1800s?

ClubyMusic answers:

Okay, it’s funny the first couple of times.
Time’s up.
It ain’t funny no more.

Betty asks…

How are transcendentalism and idealism different from each other?

Is transcendentalism and idealism alike in any way or are they two different (beliefs or followings?)? I just really wanna understand them better. Thanks

ClubyMusic answers:

Transcendentalism is based upon the concept of transcendence, the rising to a state beyond sense experience (used heavily in religion).
Idealism on the other hand maintains that the ultimate nature of reality is based on mind or ideas.
As you see they are not the same however there is a marriage between the two represented by Transcendental idealism which is a doctrine founded by German philosopher Immanuel Kant, it maintains that human experience of things consists of how they appear to us.

Carol asks…

What is the difference between realism, romanticism, and transcendentalism?

On my AP US history test tomorrow, our teacher wants us to read a passage and classify it as realism, romanticism, or transcendentalism. How can I tell these three apart?

Thanks in advance!

ClubyMusic answers:

1. Realism: Tells things as they really are. Not much interpretation, not run through any person filters, much like the play-by-play of a football game.

2. Romanticism: Elicits emotion and glamorizes the events. Not romantic as in candles, soft music, and good food, but romanticism as in patriotism, nationalism, or devotion to a cause

3. Transcendentalism: Refers to knowledge one has that “transcends” the senses. We all know some things even though we didn’t learn it through sight, sound, touch, taste, or smell. We merely “sense” things and this knowledge “transcends” our regular senses.

Carol asks…

which Dance Gavin Dance song appeared in a Movie, and what was the movies name?

I heard this song in a movie and took down the name of the artist ( dance gavin dance) from the movie credits. I didnt take down the song name and have forgotten which movie it was.

ClubyMusic answers:

What was the name of the movie?

Ruth asks…

What are some Dance Gavin Dance Songs with the least amount of screaming?

I loveeee Dance Gavin Dance, but sometimes there’s a little bit too much screaming in them for me. I like the songs like And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman, Strawberry Swisher Pt. 1 & 2 . So what are some of their songs with only a little bit of screaming in em?

ClubyMusic answers:

I really like “Alex English” and “Buffalo.”
But my favorite songs by them are the one’s with Kurt.
Self Titled and Happiness

John asks…

Does anybody know a song by Dance Gavin Dance that has no screaming in it?

I showed my friend Dance Gavin Dance, but he doesn’t like screaming in his music. I wanted to know if they have a song that has no screaming in it at all, but is fairly new.

ClubyMusic answers:

I don’t know if they have any, but screaming is an acquired taste, show him OPETH though, they have a number of soft songs peppered across their 9 album catalog. They’re a good band for getting people to like the screaming, mainly because Mikael Akerfeldt is so freaking godly at it.

Soft Opeth http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qV1Fe9de0dA

What bands are similiar to Dance Gavin Dance?

I really really like Dance Gavin Dance. I mostly like the clean vocals. Both Kurt and Jonny are amazing. I also really like the guitar style. Are there any suggestions to any similiar bands?

ClubyMusic answers:

Emarosa’s new album is pretty much Dance Gavin Dance remade a little bit. You should really check it out if you like DGD.
But other than that, maybe As Cities Burn, Before Their Eyes, or A Skylit Drive. But really, none are as good or unique as DGD/Emarosa..

Fresh Cluby Questions About Technology In The Classroom

19. November 2011 Posted by ClubyMusic

Nancy asks…

Technology in classrooms paragraph help?

I need help. Only one paragraph to go and it’s on classroom technology. Here is the thinggy.
-9 complete sentences on how technology is best utilized in classrooms, why it is needed and how we can make it better.
Thank you.

ClubyMusic answers:

Some of the ways in which technology has impacted education :
– has helped in making better & diverse teaching-learning aids & tools, including audio-visual, computer, OHP, etc. [learning by doing & seeing is more effective & motivating]
– possible to cater to larger number of students per teacher
– learning at own pace & time & place eg. Through open/distance/correspondence learning
– internet has provided an online option globally
– repetitive & remedial teaching-learning is made easier through customized programs [instant feedback]
– Braille & audio learning for the blind
– teacher-less virtual classrooms that are able to reach remote & rural interiors
– better infrastructure including storage facilities, durability of materials, comfort, etc.
– library & referencing facilities have improved tremendously through use of computer, cataloging & online technology
– hearing aids, & such other medical aids that help kids with specific challenges to overcome their physical & physiological limitations.
– improvement in research processes & greater reliability of research findings.
– good for refresher courses, etc.

But there are also some ethical issues presented by technology in education :
- plagiarism
- indiscriminate use of technology to the detriment of other skills
- anonymity & falsehoods
- getting homework done by others as in Y!A & many other such sites instead of thinking for oneself
- laziness on the part of both students & teachers – everything readymade, tailored, no originality or creativity
- not citing sources, giving due credit

Hope this provides ample sentences for your para ?
Have fun :-)

Sandy asks…

Using Technology in classroom?

What would be a cool project for a kindergarten class to do for a Technology Fair. The project has to be involved with technology.

ClubyMusic answers:

How about an ABC book made on the computer? You could have the letter and a picture that starts with that letter. Each child could draw the picture on the computer.

Carol asks…

What are the advantages of using technology in the classroom?

Why should technology be used in the classroom and what are the advantages of using it?

ClubyMusic answers:

ADVANTAGES:

1. Technology can offer schools from a low-socio economic background a chance at giving their students some equality in their education
Eg. A well funded school would have enough copies of a text book for each student where as a less-funded school could give students online copies or use projectors to look at pages

2. Technology is becoming increasingly integrated in to everyday life so students need to master using it as an option for research, communication and employment.

3. Using technology can make classroom practice more interactive (if you have something like a SmartBoard in your room) and can encourage kids to continue their learning at home (looking up something online from a lesson during the day). The teacher is able to provide links that may be useful for students.

4. Technology allows more communication for students and parents – kids who are too nervous to ask questions in class can email a teacher or ask for extra feedback on an essay

5. Makes teaching efficient, in that there is less paper and organising and collating of notes. This helps the school work towards environmental sustainability and consciousness. Less photocopies and more online/USB exchanges.

DISADVANTAGES:

1. Exams are still handwritten and students who type notes and assessments don’t practice using pen and paper.

2. Students can become reliant on technology and wont do any of their own research (ie. Using the library) – doing this can lead to them using unreliable sources or websites.

3. Most students engage in multiple forms of communication online, this has lead to a decrease in verbal and written literacy as students use short-hand expressions and do very little editing themselves.

4. A lot of families cannot afford to continue updating their technological purchases (computers, laptops). Providing the technology themselves can be costly. On the other hand, some schools receive such little funding that technology in the classroom is a non-essential luxury.

5. Technology can have unexpected breakdowns. Power failures, low batteries, viruses, and broken equipment are all excuses students love to use.

Hope this helps.

Thomas asks…

What technology do you use in in your classroom?

I have to do a project about technology in the classroom. I need 5 examples…I have already chosen these 5:

Smartboards
computers
internet
educational software (such as educational computer games, ect.)
Television and DVD players

I just feel like some of these are common and was wondering what other types of technology are useful…Any suggestion? Thanks!

ClubyMusic answers:

It will be easier if you are more specific than “computers” and “internet.” Use specific tech ideas, like MS Office, Prezi, museum websites, etc.
I also use document cameras on a regular basis.

Mary asks…

Teachers, how do you use technology in the classroom most effectively?

I need some ideas of great ways to expose kids to technology in the classroom. I think that using blogs as a forum for expressing ideas related to class curriculum has some promise. I would like to hear about any success stories using cool technology to motivate students to learn. Any experiences or ideas?

ClubyMusic answers:

Two cool things I’ve used.

1) Have kids create their own webquests. I let my kids create a webquest, and then students randomly swap webquests with other students. They really get into it!

2) Podcasting. It’s pretty cheap, and kids love it. I also use it to record my lectures and allow students who are absent to download them, so catching up isn’t such a burden.

Como se origino la musica cristiana en America Central , Costa Rica?

How did christian music originate to Costa Rica, central America ?

ClubyMusic answers:

Because Central America was conquered by Spaniards, and these were catholic, Costa Rica adopted the Catholic Religion. Since then, people worship their God, and as it is written in the Bible, “singing to God is like praying twice”. Probably from this quote, people started to worship their God by singing.
